Annual All-World Charitable Softball Tournament

For the past 21 years the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office has sponsored a softball tournament with proceeds going to WEAVE and the Child Family Institute. The tournament is held the second weekend of August each year.

Teams this year included players from Sacramento District Attorney's Office, Bureau of Family Support, Fresno Public Defender's Office, Ventura District Attorney's Office, Riverside District Attorney's Office, Stanislaus District Attorney, Solano District Attorney and Public Defender, Alameda District Attorney, Bureau of Family Support and Public Defender, FBI, San Francisco District Attorney and Attorney General's Office.

The Attorney General's Office placed first this year, Bureau of Family Support came in second, and Solano Public Defender and one of Sacramento District Attorney's teams placed third.

More than $20,000 has been donated to WEAVE and Child and Family Institute since the inception of this tournament. So far this year $400 has been donated to CAARE (UCD Med Center's program that does exams on child sex and abuse victims), $400 to MDIC (center where children of sexual abuse are interviewed). Between $500 - $1,000 is donated to WEAVE each year.
